Guiness Goodness!

I found a picture of this miraculous looking dessert on Green Wedding Shoes and followed the link to Sprinkle Bakes  where I got so excited that I could barely keep myself from jumping up and down! A Guiness pudding?! Could such deliciousness truly exist?! Normally I'm not a recipe-poster, but this is just too good to pass up. Here are the ingredients and instructions as are posted on Epicurious.

Ingredients

8 Large Egg Yolks
1 Cup Sugar
One 14.9-ounce can Guiness Draught
3 cups heavy cream
7 ounces high-quality bittersweet (70 to 70% cacao) chocolate, finely chopped

Preparation

In large nonreactive mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar.

Open can of Guinness and slowly pour into 4-cup measuring cup, pouring down side of cup to reduce foaming. Pour half of Guinness (about 7/8 cup) into heavy-bottomed 3-quart saucepan. Add 2 1/4 cups cream and whisk to combine. Set over medium heat and heat, whisking occasionally, until bubbles just begin to form at edges. Remove from heat, add chocolate, and whisk until smooth.

Slowly pour hot chocolate mixture into eggs, whisking constantly to prevent curdling. Return mixture to saucepan and set over moderately low heat. Cook, whisking constantly, until mixture thickens and coats back of spoon, about 15 minutes. (Pudding will look separated.) Pour into blender and blend on high for 1 minute.

Divide pudding among glasses, leaving at least 1 inch of space at top of each. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled and set.

Meanwhile, pour remaining Guinness into small saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to moderately low and simmer, uncovered, until reduced to 1 tablespoon, about 20 minutes. Pour syrup into small bowl and let cool.
Beat remaining cream until soft peaks form. Add Guinness syrup and beat until combined. Divide cream among 6 glasses of pudding and serve.

70th Birthday Tea Party

We are very excited this week because work has begun on the 70th Birthday Tea Party for a very special lady named Paula Rinde. Paula is a quilter who has never had a big party in her life... even her wedding was a quiet little church wedding. We decided to step in and do something about this, because a 70th birthday party can be nothing but a big to-do affair!

We are planning a beautiful tea party for Paula using all of the tea cups that she collects, a mismatch of pretty antique furniture, and a stunning dessert station to take the cake!  I can't wait to see the final result! Here are some inspiration photos I've pulled from various sources online. It's going to be so much fun!

Airport Wedding Photos

A friend of mine was in a wedding recently where the Bride and Groom had arranged to take their photos at the airport! What a clever idea! The photos turned out to have a really modern edge, and were beautifully done by Walter Wilson Studios in San Diego.

Gotta love a Bride and Groom who think out of the box!

Craven Estate Wedding

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Fresh Events Company to help produce the wedding of Jennifer and Robert Hammond at Craven Estate in Pasadena. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous thanks to the wonderful vendors who did such a fabulous job. Dana from En Luce Photography just shared a few of the images from the event with me and they were so stunning that I simply must show them off!

Thank you to...

Congratulations Molly & David

Remember this post about Molly and David's engagement photos? Well the happy couple finally tied the knot!

Congratulations to the Da Baere Family!

White by Vera Wang

I was pleasantly surprised this year by the fact that Vera Wang was designing a line for David's Bridal. White by Vera Wang is a gorgeous line sold at a very reasonable price point for the everyday bride who possibly couldn't afford Vera until now. It is truly an exquisite line and I am LOVING the direction Vera's gowns are going in!

I've had my eye on this ball gown for quite some time now.
So etherial!
