Real Wedding: Caroline & Jason

Last August I had the pleasure of working with Caroline and Jason to help plan their beautiful, romantic wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. Their wedding was filled to bursting with all kinds of sweet and charming details. Caroline and her mother, Carlota, were very specific with their wishes for the overall look of the event. They wanted simple and elegant... And that's exactly what they got, along with the added charm of the historic Hotel Del!

The ceremony was held on the sand in front of "The Del", with the Pacific Ocean and their very own custom sand castle in the background.

The bridesmaids wore various shades of blush pink and peach to compliment the groomsmen's multi-tone grey suits. Very elegant (and simple)!

We created a truly unique escort card system. Each guest had a pocket envelope with colored ribbons indicating their meal selection, and a pull out card that told them their table number. We displayed these pretty cards on a fluffy bed of baby's breath.

The reception was held in the crown room of "The Del". We used all whites and ivories to lighten up the room and make every thing look clean and simple, to compliment the natural beauty of the room.

Sweet Bee desserts did the amazing dessert station, that was filled with delicious treats that made a beautiful showcase and focal point in the large ballroom.

Congratulations to the happy couple! It was an honor to be able to help pull together all the fantastic details of your event. I wish you and your families every happiness!

Real Wedding: Kaitlyn & Brian

Today I have the pleasure of sharing a beautiful wedding that we did last year at the Fullerton Arboretum. Kaitlyn and Brian had a lovely wedding in the midst of all the beautiful greenery found on the lush orchard lawn. Kaitlyn wanted to keep everything very simple, and didn't want to have anything that would end up looking "dated" in the long run. The result was a very natural, fun outdoor affair. These exquisite photos were shot by Elizabeth Ray Photography

The bride's brother, Clayton Jensen, of Another World Plants and Terrariums did all the incredible succulent centerpieces found throughout the wedding. They looked so fresh and wonderfully different in comparison to all the over the top florals that are trending in weddings right now. I highly recommend that all my modern brides out there use succulents for their weddings. Succulents last a very long time and end up as great favors for guests to take home. Not to mention, they look so unique and interesting in a wedding setting!

A friend of the bride provided all of these amazing homemade cakes for dessert. They looked fantastic and tasted delicious too! It was so nice to have something other than just a basic wedding cake. Guests could have their choice of any and all of these delicious desserts.

The venue looked stunning at night with twinkle lights in the trees, and colored globe lanterns scattered around the perimeter of the reception space. We also did some beautiful amber up-lights, provided by our DJ from Groove Box Entertainment, that gave the whole space a beautiful glow, and made all the guests look great in the wedding photos. Don't underestimate the power of great lighting! Lighting always makes a huge difference when it comes to ambiance. It's always so nice to work with a great DJ who provides lighting as well. Kurtis, from Groove Box, was so great to work with, and did an excellent job keeping the guests on their feet all night long.

Thank you to Kaitlyn and Brian for letting us be a part of your big day! Congratulations on your marriage. We love you guys and wish you all the very best that marriage has to offer!
